Aramark Rally

Fri., May 30, 2008
Barlett & Univ. Ave
2:30-3:30 pm

Rally Flier / Petition.

Calling all graduate teaching assistants and instructors who will Teach-Out(side);

Graduate Students United is a member of the Aramark Worker Student Alliance (AWSA), which has formulated a series of demands for Aramark corporation to consider in light of its upcoming negotiations with its employees and the University.

As a member of this coalition we endorse the call to collect signatures of students in support of worker demands, and to rally on the main quads this Friday afternoon to show solidarity with Aramark workers on our campus.

We ask that all teaching assistants and instructors who participate in the upcoming Teach-Out(side) this Wednesday and Thursday consider inviting students to sign the petition, discuss the issues, and attend the rally the following day. We realize that classes should go on as planned, although we hope all students recognize this exciting opportunity to bring University undergraduates, graduate students, and employees together in solidarity on this occasion. Petitions can be dropped off with an AWSA representative by contacting Greg.

May Day Celebration

Gamma Alpha Grad Student Co-op

Graduate Students United invites you to join us in celebrating International Worker's Day!

GSU is pleased to announce that within the past quarter, nearly 500 people signed GSU's petition, agreeing that something must be done about our health insurance and advance residency fees. During our petition work, most of you also expressed concerns about our low teaching wages.... We want all of you to meet up and party!

Come enjoy the company of your fellow grad students while drinking premium beer and mixed cocktails from our bar.

Play beer-pong and enjoy our ample dance floor, where our DJs will be laying out a wide range of music including Soul, Hip-hop, Reggaeton, and classic dance hits from the 80's and 90's.

An information desk will be located outside on the front porch for all those interested in joining or learning more about GSU.

Food and beverages will be provided. If you have the desire to bring a special bottle of your own, we will gladly stash it for you behind the bar.
